For decades, billions of dollars have poured into Afghanistan with very little of it benefiting the average citizen and far too little of lasting value created with that money. Just imagine if every dollar spent on weapons had been invested into education instead. What if instead of lining the coffers of corrupt leaders, the money had gone into food supply chains, supporting human rights, education, and the people themselves? Afghan would be in a much different position than it finds itself today, certainly.

At the heart of Food for Thought Afghanistan's mission is doing what should have been done all along - put resources and support into the hands of Afghan people who are doing the work to educate, feed, and develop the capacity of their people. Empower them to do for themselves what their government and all the great powers of the world could not.
