Samad's Family

Samad and his wife are both long-time human rights defenders. He served as Public Relations Advisor at the Free and Fair Election Forum of Afghanistan, and his wife was deeply engaged in women’s rights advocacy. After the Taliban takeover, he was arrested and released only due to intervention by  community elders. However, the threats persisted — raids on their home, community surveillance, and
persecution of their children began shortly after.

Fearing for their lives, they fled to Pakistan, only to be deported once — and are now back in Afghanistan, hiding in terrifying conditions. The family has no access to school, healthcare, or safety.
Their youngest child shows signs of trauma, while the parents suffer from ongoing stress and  helplessness. Every day, they risk being arrested or worse.

They urgently need resettlement support to find peace and safety in Brazil and begin rebuilding their lives.
