Mina's Family

Mina is a football player and women’s rights activist; her husband is a playwright and human rights advocate. They endured threats, an arson attack on their home, and years of harassment. After escaping to Iran, they were forced to flee again to Pakistan, where they live without income or legal  rights.

Mina’s father died from stress-related illness during this time, and the family struggled to pay for hospital access, even while grieving. They remain under threat of deportation. Their mental health is  fragile; their hope, however, endures.

In Brazil, Mina dreams of continuing her studies and becoming a coach, while her husband hopes to return to theater and activism.
