Hasina's Family
$34,329.00
Hasina and her husband ran a media and education-focused organization in Kabul. She was a teacher and women's rights activist; her husband, a journalist and media director. The Taliban raided their offices and confiscated everything, branding them enemies of the regime. The family had to flee with only the clothes on their backs.
Today, in Pakistan, they are living in a single room without legal protection or school access for their
children. Their daughter, once a child actress, has lost all opportunity for education or creative expression. The family is emotionally and physically exhausted. They fear each knock on the door might be the police, coming to deport them.
They dream of rebuilding their lives in Brazil and contributing to society through education and storytelling.
